Baby Domenic came to see me at 8 days old, which coincidentally happens to be my sweet spot for photographing newborns. It’s a misconception that all newborns sleep during their session and they’re super easy to move around. While they may barely open their eyes during the first few days after birth, they tend to wake up pretty quickly in the days that follow, becoming a lot more alert and a lot less sleepy.
The ideal time to capture your newborn baby is within the first 12 days and while it’s not impossible to get great shots outside of that window, you’re going to have your work cut out for you if you wait too long.
Fortunately, this little guy came at the most ideal time and was a sleepy, snuggly dreamboat!
