• HELLO and welcome!

It's so great to have you here. Please feel free to take a look around and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to get in touch!

Founded in 2010, Baby Buddha Photography was one of the very first dedicated newborn studios established in the Geelong region.

At a time when the idea of newborn photography as an independent genre was still in its infancy, Baby Buddha Photography grew to accrue a loyal clientele and a steadfast reputation for dedication and professionalism within the industry.

Through our Pure Newborn & Outdoor Newborn Sessions, we continue to create the natural newborn images our studio has become synonymous with.

In addition to customised newborn portraiture, Baby Buddha Photography also offers Family and Maternity sessions.

Welcoming Rosie

One of the joys of adding to your family has to be watching your first child as they tentatively step into their new role as a big brother or sister, watching them carefully as they gently and intuitively place their hands on their newborn sibling.  If ever you could feel your heart physically expanding, I’m certain that for most parents, it would be from moments like this!

I’m often asked if it’s okay for siblings to join in with a newborn session and the answer is always a resounding YES!
When this beautiful family welcomed their second baby girl, they came to see me in Geelong, along with their eldest daughter, for a studio newborn session.  Baby Rosie was a perfect one week old and a sleepy delight.

An Outdoor Maternity Session

‘Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known’
~ Sharon Begley

Like so many others during the pandemic, we had to postpone Karen’s outdoor maternity session when we were all sent into another swift lockdown. It’s definitely stressful to press pause when you know a session is time sensitive, but thankfully, we didn’t have to wait too long and her little one mercifully waited for us.

Karen’s shoot took place at the beginning of winter and whilst some might be scared off booking their sessions during the cooler weather, we had a beautiful afternoon.  The Swedish say there is no bad weather, only bad clothes.  Well, we had neither here!

One Balmy Summer’s Night ~ A Mother & Daughter Session

Late last year, I was contacted by Melbourne-based Veronica, who was planning a very special mini-vacay on the gorgeous Bellarine Peninsula for herself and her daughter, Amrapali.

From our first conversation, I loved Veronica’s energy and earnestness, and as a mother myself, her reasoning for wanting this shoot completely resonated with me.  She was going to be celebrating a special milestone birthday and wanted to commemorate the occasion with a mother/daughter session. She spoke of how quickly Amrapali was growing up, their closeness and how she cherishes the time they spend together.

We talked about ageing and how there are always things we want to change about ourselves – and how scary and confronting looking in the mirror can be sometimes.  But, also the importance of not allowing these things to get in the way of seizing the moment – of making memories and taking the time to immortalise them.

And so, with a plan to meet up during their sojourn in Ocean Grove, I spent a gorgeous, balmy,  Summer’s evening with this beautiful pair. As the session flew by, I was honoured to capture the bond they share and the affection they have for each other – and hopefully I’ve fulfilled Veronica’s Birthday wish!

Welcoming Freddie

You always hear that redheads have fiery temperaments but that couldn’t be further from the truth in this beautiful family.  Whenever I hear these guys are extending their brood, I do an internal happy dance because they are the sweetest people and their children are always so ridiculously well behaved.  They are some of my favourite clients and it’s always a joy spending time with them.

Freddie is their newest addition and he is as cuddly and delightful as the siblings that came before him.

The Chirgwin Family

I love an old tyre swing (who doesn’t!), so my heart leapt for joy when I spotted one hanging unassumingly in the corner of the Chirgwin family farm.  It sat limply, almost touching the ground, but I knew immediately we would be using it at some point during their session.

Sarah had originally planned for this to be a family session for three but by the time were were able to actually shoot, there was a fourth to be included too, if only in the shape of a small, perfectly formed bump!
Here are a few of my favourites.
