FAQ

When is the best time to photograph my newborn?

It’s generally accepted that a baby is a newborn for the first three months of life, however in photography terms, newborns are best captured within the first two weeks.  This is when they’re at their sleepy best and most cooperative.  We usually like to see our newborn clients around day 7 or 8.

When is the best time to book my newborn session?

Our Pure Newborn sessions usually book a few months in advance so we suggest getting in touch during the 2nd trimester after you’ve had your dating scan.  If you’ve left it a little late to book your session, please don’t despair!  Depending on when our pre-booked babies arrive, it sometimes happens that we’ll have extra availabilities.  Feel free to get in touch and we’ll do our best to help you out.

How do I know what day to book my session?

We appreciate that babies can arrive at any time and rarely on their due date.  With this is mind, we note down your due date in our booking diary.  When your beautiful baby arrives, we ask that you let us know within 24hrs so that we can begin preparing their session for the week ahead.

When is the Pure Newborn Session Fee due?

All session fees are payable within 7 days to secure your booking.

What should I wear?  Is there anything I need to bring?

We have a detailed Welcome Guide that you will have access to once we know your little one has arrived and their actual session date as been arranged.  The Welcome Guide covers all the information you need, including studio address, what to expect, what to bring, clothing inspiration etc

Do I need to bring props or wraps of my own?

Definitely not, we have you covered!  The studio contains a wide variety of blankets, wraps, beanies and tie-backs.  However, if you have something special you’d like to include in your session, you are more than welcome to bring it along.

Are you immunised?

Absolutely!  The health and safety of our newborn clients is paramount.

Can we include our baby’s siblings in the session?

Of course!  All of our newborn sessions include parent/baby and sibling/baby pics.  We do these at the very beginning of the session.

What if I need to postpone my newborn session?

It sometimes happens that our littlest clients need to spend some time in Special Care, preventing them from leaving hospital when expected.  If this happens, we will happily postpone your session until your little one is released.

What if I want to cancel my newborn session?

In the event that you wish to cancel your newborn session, please note the the Reservation Retainer is non-refundable.
